About Us & History
Pernod Ricard Group was established 1975 by merging of two family businesses Pernod and Ricard. The roots reach far more to the history, up to 1805, when Henri Louis Pernod started the first absinth distillery in France. Paul Ricard brought an anise drink called pastis to market in 1932, which became French national beverage soon afterwards.
The Group is nowadays being led by Alexandre Ricard, who in 2015 followed up on his father Patrick Ricard a son of the company founder himself – Paul Ricard.
Pernod Ricard Czech Republic originated in 2024 by separating from the Jan Becher Karlovarská Becherovka company, which used to be a member of Pernod Ricard Group since 1997. In this year it added to it´s portfolio a world famous traditional Czech liqueur Becherovka which successfully ran for 27 years.
